The role of the Staff Accountant will be an integral part of the Accounting & Finance department responsible for a variety of daily and monthly responsibilities associated with month end close and the production of monthly financial statements.   The role supports the Accounting Department with AR, cash management, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, fixed assets, audit, and other duties as needed.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the following:
  • Assist with month end close process. 
  • Perform account reconciliations, prepare and record journal entries.
  • Oversee prepaid accounts and other balance sheet accounts as assigned.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Post daily cash receipts, prepare and distribute daily cash and AR Aging reports.
  • Process out of pocket employee expense reimbursements through Concur program.
  • Perform Concur maintenance including new employee setup and job number setup.
  • Oversee sales consultant agreements and maintain in system.
  • Maintain Fixed Assets module including tracking and recording of monthly depreciation. 
  • Maintain schedules necessary for multi-state property tax returns.
  • Assist with annual audit, prepare schedules and provide supporting documentation as needed.
  • Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned by management.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles, US GAAP/IFRS.
  • 3-5 years accounting experience, construction accounting a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel and other MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, etc.).

  • Detail oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Travel less than 10% of the time
  • Normal Office Environment and Field Environment, may be exposed to different weather elements
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
  • Frequently communicates with employees and customers
