SUMMARY
The Apprentice will assist Construction Technicians in the installation, functional testing and service of wiring, conduit, components and software of various electronic building automation and special systems. Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Most non-routine activities may require a supervisor’s advance approval.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are not limited to:
  • Assist the Construction Technician in installation and testing of special systems
  • Complete enrollment in the IEC apprenticeship program and maintain good standing
  • Safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades
  • Other tasks as assigned by Manager


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • High School Diploma/ G.E.D
  • < 1 year of experience


SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to follow directions and safety procedures


WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to Travel  50% - 75%  of the time
  • Normal Office Environment and Field Environment, may be exposed to different weather elements
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Able to lift 50lbs, bend, stand, climb ladders, and walk
  • Frequently communicates with employees and customers
  • Able to get from office to off site customers
